Just a snapshot, but it’s amazing to see how the brussel sprout grows in such a complex, folded pattern.

They taste great when pan seared in olive oil with sea salt, pepper and then topped with parmesan cheese.

Here is my pencil sketch of our model from today’s life drawing group. This is the first time I have felt like I’ve drawn a reasonably good portrait. When I was drawing and I realized my sketch was actually coming out okay, I had a feeling best described as a mixture of profound joy and slight disbelief that I actually was making a good sketch.

Taking my dog for a walk, I came across these cedar posts in my neighbor’s field. I liked the patterns of the posts in the snow and the shadow detail around each post in the image below. Another 30-40 cm of snow on the way tonight…
