Brooksville, ME

This was taken on a wonderful overcast day in Brooksville, Maine on some land recently donated to the Blue Hill Heritage Trust.

Unfortunately, I mistakingly left my tripod at home, and this image was handheld  ISO 800 for 1/30 second at f/10.

This one reminds me of fall in New Brunswick. Good work without a tripod.

I processed this image in Raw Developer because Lightroom 2.5 just doesn’t seem to have a
satisfactory quality in its RAW conversion. But, Lightroom 3.0 beta just came out and seems —at least in my preliminary testing with some ISO 3200 images—have much better quality. The color noise reduction (which is the only aspect functioning in 3.0 beta) is quite good. I’ll have to reprocess this image in 3.0 beta to see how it looks.

I do miss the New Brunswick workshop this fall….

I’m looking forward to Lightroom 3 as well. It looks like there will be a lot of good improvements.
